V0The validation layer

Built to be trusted in a procurement record.

Validation is where sourcing decisions break. A specification that only exists on the datasheet that published it is not evidence, and treating it as evidence is how a programme discovers a thermal limit at flight test.

01Three evidence states

Every claim lands in one of three states.

Three states preserve the single most useful distinction in sourcing: between a number that was checked and a number that was copied. “Unverified” is a genuine result, and it stays visible.

Verified

Reconciled against independent sources under stated conditions.

Unverified

Claimed, but conditions are absent or sources disagree. Recorded as open, not repeated as fact.

Contradicted

Independent evidence points somewhere else. The gap is documented with both sources.

02What gets checked

Four passes before a supplier reaches a shortlist.

V-01

Identity

Is this company what it says it is?

The first pass establishes who you are actually talking to: who manufactures, who distributes, and who resells — each recorded distinctly, so the rest of the assessment rests on solid ground.

Legal entity and registration

Registered name, jurisdiction, and operating status confirmed against the public register.

Manufacturer or channel

Manufacturer, authorised distributor, integrator, or reseller — each recorded explicitly, in its own right.

Production location

Where the part is made, which is frequently not where the company is registered.

Brand and OEM overlap

Where several brands originate from one plant, the overlap is recorded so you do not dual-source from a single point of failure.

V-02

Capability

Can they actually build this, at your volume?

A company that can build ten can rarely build ten thousand on the same terms. Capability is assessed against your volume and your date, not in the abstract.

Process and equipment scope

What is performed in-house against what is subcontracted, and to whom.

Volume and lead-time evidence

Demonstrated output at your order size, not the stated maximum capacity.

Quality system

Certification scope read in full — a certificate frequently covers a narrower activity than the company implies.

Customisation limits

What is genuinely configurable against what is catalogue-only with a new label.

V-03

Technical claims

Does the number hold under your conditions?

This is where sourcing decisions break. A claim is reconciled against independent sources and against its own stated test conditions. Where the conditions are absent, the claim is recorded as unverified rather than repeated.

Test conditions recovered

Temperature, duty cycle, load, and duration behind each headline figure. A number without conditions is not a specification.

Peak against continuous

Burst ratings separated from sustained ratings, with the burst duration stated.

Independent reconciliation

Claims cross-checked against test data, teardowns, and comparable parts. Disagreement between sources is itself recorded as a finding.

Shipped-SKU match

Whether the specification on the datasheet corresponds to the revision that actually ships.

V-04

Commercial & continuity

Will this still be sourceable when you need it again?

A part that is correct today and unavailable in eighteen months is a design liability. Continuity is validated alongside the technical case.

Pricing bands and MOQ

Realistic pricing at your volume, with the quantity breaks that actually apply.

Lead-time stability

Quoted lead time against observed lead time over the recent period.

Lifecycle position

Revision history, end-of-life signals, and how the supplier communicates change.

Second-source availability

Whether a genuine alternative exists, or whether apparent alternatives share one origin.

03Operating principles

The rules we do not bend under commercial pressure.

01

Conditions travel with every number

Thrust with its test rig. Current with its ambient. Capacity with its discharge rate. Where the conditions are absent from a datasheet, we recover them — and record it plainly when they cannot be found.

02

Disagreement is a finding

When sources conflict, the conflict itself is surfaced with both sources attached. It is usually the most informative thing in the record, and the fastest route to the right question.

03

Evidence travels with the decision

Every record carries its sources. When engineering, quality, or finance asks why a supplier was selected, the answer is in the record rather than in someone's memory of a call.

04

Certainty is stated, never assumed

Each finding carries the confidence it has actually earned. A shortlist with three verified options and two open questions is worth more than five presented as equal.

Funded by you, answerable to you

Independence

Your shortlist answers to your requirement alone.

A validated shortlist is worth something because the party producing it has one interest: getting the answer right. YUGRAV is funded by the people who use the work, and every finding is recorded on the same basis regardless of which supplier it happens to favour.

  • Funded by you, answerable to you
  • Free to recommend whatever the evidence supports
  • Every finding recorded on one basis
  • The decision and the record stay yours

Validate a claim

Have a specification you do not trust?

Send the datasheet and the conditions your system actually runs at. We reconcile the claim against independent sources and tell you which of the three states it lands in.
